Cavo: the town located closest to the mainland and the touristic seaside resort of the same name in the suburb of the municipality of Rio Marina. Nice place, fully equipped for tourists, with a sandy beach that goes as far as Capo Castello, where there are the remains of a Roman villa from the first century AD and a beautiful coastline of cliffs that goes from Capo Castello to Capo della Vita. You can also visit the Tonietti Mausoleum here; it is a unique liberty style building that was designed by the architect Gino Coppedè.
There is a small port with the small landing jetty connected to the small tourist dock with the water and fuel facilities for boats. The harbour is sheltered from most directions, but strong NE winds can send in an uncomfortable swell. A few berths are reserved for yachts in transit.
